The following pages contain a brief evaluation of key elements of your birth chart, although it is by no means complete.  Astrology can reveal many things about a person's life and personality, and you could study your chart for a lifetime without knowing the answers to all of your questions.  The descriptions that follow will give you a "thumbnail" introduction to yourself through astrology.

In interpreting your chart, this report considers the sign of the planets and the north node in your chart, as well as their house placements.  It also describes the sign of the Ascendant and the strongest aspects between the planets.

You may note that some of the following descriptions appear to contradict each other--and indeed we are all walking bundles of contradiction.  If you examine yourself carefully, you will probably realize that you do in fact possess the qualities of both conflicting descriptions.  Even though some parts of the reading may seem to clash, you will see that certain themes are repeated throughout the following pages.  These are the ones that will become major issues in your life.

The readings stress that you are the ultimate decider of your fate.  The stars may indicate the hand you were dealt at birth, but it is up to you to play that hand well enough to achieve your goals.  Also, bear in mind that every "bad" aspect of a chart also has a "good" side.  How it is expressed is really up to you.  We tend to work at expressing ourselves more positively most of the time and only lapse into the negative behavior described when depressed, angry or scared.  Or it is possible that some aspects may better describe your personality or behavior earlier in life.  They may seem alien now because you have already worked through them.

A "Strength" number precedes each aspect description; this number takes into account how exact the aspect is, whether the aspect is a major or minor one, and whether an aspecting planet is close to one of the four chart angles.  The higher the Strength, the more you are likely to feel the aspect and to act it out in your life.

Sagittarians have a strong need for freedom and self-expression.  Ruled by Jupiter, the mythological King of the Gods, you love adventure, travel, exploration, flirting, gambling, and--most of all--truth seeking.  You are constantly looking for new opportunities to accomplish your goals in life, and for this reason you are not likely to miss much.  Just be careful that your optimism does not swell into over- confidence and laziness so that you sit back and do nothing as chances pass you by.

You pursue your personal and professional goals with great vigor, but are quite likely to get distracted along the way when something (or someone) else seems more interesting and challenging.  Sagittarians are well known for being socially active--even promiscuous.  This is especially true for the men, who take on the womanizing qualities of Jupiter himself.  Natives of both sexes are usually attractive and well-dressed, and they have a knack for setting new fashion trends.

In your relationships with others you are frank and honest, sometimes brutally so.  It's not that you mean to be, but not everyone can take so much raw truth at one time.  You enjoy physical activity and can grow restless without it.  You have little regard for customary social etiquette and prefer to behave in a nonconventional manner.  Existing rules of conduct are no more than a charade to you, and you refuse to play.  You thoroughly enjoy socializing with your friends, but they must learn to take your blunt outspokenness.

Just like their ruler, Jupiter, Sagittarians can have a very nasty, thunder-and-lightning kind of temper.  But once the storm passes, they return to their sunny selves; they don't hold grudges like Scorpions.  In fact, they can be very philosophical about such outbursts and quickly identify a higher meaning to them.  In fact, Sagittarians always look for a deeper meaning behind everything.  They continually ponder over the secrets and great mysteries of the Universe.

Romantically, you seek a long-lasting and deep relationship.  You must have a special close intimacy with your partner that transcends sex.  Although you may spend your youth being somewhat promiscuous, in the long run you realize that casual sex is not satisfying to you.  It is important that your lover help you grow rather than try to limit you.

With Moon in Capricorn you have a natural desire to rise to a position of power and fame and are willing to work hard for your accomplishments.  Once you have attained your goals you see your success as adequate compensation for the absence of personal relationships in your life.  The archetype associated with Capricorn is Ebenezer Scrooge of Dickens' Christmas Carol.  Be careful not to let your drive for fame destroy your family or love life.  Those with Moon in Capricorn who are not fortunate enough to achieve fame and fortune become terribly frustrated and may even develop ill health as a result.

This is a difficult Moon placement for women, mostly because women have not traditionally been allowed to pursue their individual ambitions apart from that of homemaker and mother.  So women with Moon in Capricorn can project their drive and ambition onto their men or others that they consider superior to them.  In this case, there is a tendency for them to become martyrs to their family or a dominant business partner.

Many persons with the Moon in Capricorn have psychological problems in adulthood which are traceable to a bad relationship with the mother.  Men with this lunar placement often marry prominent women who can benefit their career, sacrificing the emotional satisfaction they also need.  Women also may marry for position and wealth, often sacrificing true love for the stability of an older man.

But whatever your choice, you will not rush into a relationship.  Instead you exercise great caution before making a commitment.  You need a loyal mate, one who can earn your respect and demonstrate their reliability.  You can be quite generous with your loved one by lavishing them with gifts, meals, special favors (or maybe financial support).  You seek sincerity in your sexual encounters, and would be most satisfied in a long-term relationship.  Like most Capricorn placements, this one gets better with age.

Pisces Rising indicates that you are gentle and loving as well as artistic and highly idealistic.  In fact, unless your Sun sign is well grounded, you may prefer to look at the world through rose-colored glasses.  You can become an emotional wreck and at times may escape from reality by withdrawing into your own cozy little world.  You have great potential but can sometimes be lazy, tending to drift and dream your way through life and to avoid situations that make a great demand upon you.

Your friends appreciate your good sense of humor, and you often use it to laugh at otherwise uncomfortable situations.  You are more perceptive and intuitive than most people, and you are very sensitive emotionally.  You do not make emotional commitments easily because you fear being hurt.  But once you enter into a long-term relationship, you are very faithful, thoughtful and sincere.  In your best moments you are kind, compassionate, humane and giving.  In your worst moments you think you have these qualities but are actually driven by your own self-centered needs.

You are a free thinker and have a "live and let live" attitude toward others.  You prefer that others treat you the same way rather than expecting you to live up to their own ideals for you.  You insist on being yourself at all times.  When making decisions you often rely on your intuition rather than practical information, and more often than not you are right.  At those times when you are wrong, it is not easy for you to admit it.

Many persons with Pisces Ascendant have the "ostrich syndrome"--that is, they feel if they ignore problems they will simply go away.  This can lead to less than adequate physical care and medical and dental attention.  Engaging in a regular form of exercise would be good for you, as well as making sure you have a well-balanced diet. Accidents to your feet, hands and hips are common with Pisces Rising, as well as a weakness for colds and flu.  Since Pisces is a water sign, you are also likely to require a large liquid intake, and this can even result in alcoholism.

Physically, you are one of the most beautiful people in the world.  Your eyes are particularly large and liquid, and you have thick, curling lashes.  You are probably of moderate to short stature, and can be a little stocky.  Your hands and feet are probably smaller proportionately than the rest of your body, and your face may be rather pale. Your nose is short, small and flat, with not much of a bridge.

This house placement brings an infusion of Capricorn energy to your sun (since Capricorn rules the tenth house).  It is important for your self-image that you have a good reputation with others.  You value material success and respect those who have achieved it.  In your journey to the top, others will look to you for leadership.  People with the sun in this position can be paternal toward loved ones (regardless of their sex).

You work hard at your chosen occupation and probably feel exhausted at day's end. Be sure to reserve some quiet time for yourself (such as weekday evenings) apart from the time you reserve for entertaining friends and lovers (such as weekends and holidays).  You need a chance to recharge your batteries.

It is possible you will find lovers on the job rather than at social events.  You have a natural ability to influence people and make a good impression.  Others look up to you, and you probably have a reputation as a desirable lover (whether you deserve it or not). You seek a partner who has the same ambition and drive that you have, and preferably one who has realized some measure of success.

Your friends mean a lot to you, and you rely on them for support and encouragement. It is important that your friends be trustworthy, and you often become friends with your friends' friends, keeping to the circle that you feel comfortable with.  Your closest friends are likely to be women, no matter which sex you are.

At times those around you may feel that you are being aloof and even cool.  You are actually just being objective, and whether you are attentive or detached may depend largely on your mood.  Try to be more consistent for your friends' sake, at least until they get to know and understand you.

Many of your attitudes and values were heavily influenced by your parents and other authority figures from your youth.  As you grow and mature you must strive to adapt your belief system and your ideals to a new reality.  Otherwise you will always be a child emotionally.

You are most attracted to a lover who has class and is of fine breeding, and you will do all you can to assist your lover in the climb to the top.  This may seem like a selfish motivation on your part, but in reality you do want the very best for your loved ones. You thrive on an active social life, so it is important that your partner not be selfish and allow you your emotional freedom.

With Mercury in the sign Capricorn you are a deep, serious thinker.  You have a very practical and methodical mind and are not afraid of a hard day's work.  Although you may learn rather slowly, you can be sure that you will absorb your lessons thoroughly. You have a wonderful "matter of fact" manner and would be an excellent teacher or diplomat.

You are cooperative and helpful, and you have a strong desire to be of service to others.  With your ability to get to the root of deep-seated problems, you would be a good psychologist or healer.  You are impatient with corruption and injustice in society and will work to expose those responsible.  You approach your work very seriously and must be careful not to overdo in order to remain healthy.

You would be happiest in a career which allows you to enthusiastically inspire others. You have spent many lifetimes accumulating wealth and managing others.  Although you achieved material success and gained the respect of your peers, you did so without regard for the needs of others.  During this lifetime you feel compelled to succeed in order to regain the respect you once had.  You control your emotions very well and are not easy to get close to.  Although you may feel others are neglecting you, you have put up a wall to keep them away.  Your challenge is to give nourishment as well as receive it.

In past lives you had much power and prestige; in this lifetime your challenge is to become more domestic and nurturing; you may be forced to choose between your career and your family.  You may have had one domineering parent who convinced you that you were destined for greatness.  Unfortunately, this leaves you feeling disappointed when reality falls short of your expectations.

You are highly sensitive and intuitive, and probably have keen psychic abilities.  With your strong sense of compassion, healing comes naturally to you, and you may enter a career in the healing arts.  In your personal and professional lives, you tend to take on the feelings of those around you, and at times it may be necessary for you to get away and find alone time to "find yourself" again.

Your interactions with others are very intense; you are not satisfied with superficial relationships.  Control is an issue for you, whether you are trying to control others or are forced to deal with others who are trying to control you.  You attract very powerful, and often domineering, people and it may appear as though you enjoy conflict in your relationships.  With your flair for drama, you easily attract the attention of others.  You will go through many transformations in your personal life and, if you're paying attention, you'll learn a great deal.

Since you have a natural ability to persuade people to see things your way, you are a natural born public relations expert.  You would also do well in the fields of politics or social work, or as a financial advisor.  Since you are painfully aware of intolerable social injustices, you would also enjoy any career which would allow you to work toward correcting the ills of society.

In close relationships you seem to attract partners who are powerful and domineering. Try to avoid being possessive or manipulative with loved ones or getting involved with someone who will be possessive or manipulative of you.  This would only lead to power struggles and ego conflicts.  Have the courage to turn your back on anyone who seeks to remake you to their liking.

You are highly original and very enthusiastic about life.  You express yourself with creative drama, which leaves a lasting effect on others.  In order to explore your many creative potentials, you demand a great deal of personal freedom from those who are close to you.

You have seemingly unlimited energy with which to pursue your goals and have many projects to occupy your time.  You often become impatient because you have so much you want to accomplish and only a limited amount of time to do so.  You truly enjoy having limitless options in your life and feel sorry for those who lead a more boring existence.

In a career you would do well in any position that allows you freedom of movement and creativity.  You would find a regular 9-to-5 job boring and, in fact, should try to work for yourself.  Another satisfying avenue of expression for you would be working with groups as a leader.  You love jobs that allow you to explore unknown areas such as research, travel, inventing, etc.  Politics could also be exciting for you.  You want to surround yourself with others who are exciting and futuristic in their outlook.

One lesson of this aspect is to learn to be patient with others who are not similarly inclined.  Also, learn to do things in moderation.  Take a vacation and unwind from time to time.  This allows you to be all that much more effective when you do return to work. Otherwise, you may literally work yourself sick, although you see yourself as something of a superhuman.

In your love life, you are impulsive and can become restless if the relationship is boring. Your sexual needs are strong, and you need a partner who shares this quality.  You may find marriage rather restrictive and prefer to enter into a more unconventional arrangement, such as a live-in relationship.  You have a wide circle of friends, and your mate must be willing and able to not restrict your access to them through possessiveness or jealousy.  There is no quicker way to lose you.

Even as a child you were a deep thinker, and you may have felt that your interests were entirely different from those of your peers.  At a young age you began to question the larger plan of the Universe and to understand its mysteries.  Adults may have been surprised that a child so young could have such profound thoughts.

As you mature you develop an incredible ability to concentrate and to do in-depth research.  Your mind explores the deepest realms of the unknown, and you are particularly fascinated with the mystical or mysterious.  Your bounty of creativity could be the secret to your success, if you will dare develop it.

You would do well in such professions as medicine (especially surgery), research and development, chemistry, criminology or counseling.  You also have a talent for handling the assets of others and therefore could do well as an accountant or other financial expert.  Since your research skills are impressive, you could be a writer of technical papers or political/social analysis (or you could write mystery novels).

It is usually easy for you to look beyond the outside pretenses of others and to see their inner motivations.  In this same way, you are able to size up another's potential and to encourage and support them in developing it.  As a role model you will not be pushy, but rather will only give others as much guidance as they can handle--no more, no less.

Others may at times be intimidated by your wisdom and depth of thought and may even consider you to be a "know-it-all."  Pluto brings much power into your mental processes; you must learn to control the intensity of it so that others can also have their moments of glory.

This is a difficult aspect in any chart, although it does have its brighter side.  Although you are impatient, scattered and prone to domestic and professional squabbles, you are also energetic, ready and able to meet the challenges you encounter.

Although you have the energy and guts to tackle the obstacles life hands you, you must cultivate self-discipline if you are going to succeed in your endeavors.  Otherwise you will "spread yourself too thin" and scatter your energies wastefully.  Although you admire others who are successful, you must be willing to put out the sustained effort required to achieve your goals.

Your greatest impediment to success is your impatience.  If a project doesn't "pan out" right away, you drop it and go on to something else which offers more immediate results.  This aspect will improve as you age, and you will eventually learn to have faith in yourself--which in turn will help you cultivate persistence and self-discipline.

Learn to set priorities and stick to them.  And channel all of your energies into one major project rather than scattering your efforts to the four corners of the earth.  You should carefully husband your resources, especially your own time and energy, and plan your actions more carefully.

In a career you could excel in law, government, acting, media, public speaking, writing, teaching or even sports.  Don't be discouraged by the setbacks you encounter on your road to success.  You will eventually see that you can learn more from your failures than your successes.  Get up, brush yourself off, and keep on going.

In your intimate relationships you will probably encounter much tension and adversity. You may sometimes find it difficult to deal closely with others and may even encounter problems with co-workers or employers.  This is partly because you can't take criticism gracefully, and you are prone to complaining about your misfortunes.

Traditionally, this aspect indicates that you are accident prone.  In truth, you are likely to disregard safety practices and therefore set yourself up for injury.  Try not to be so impulsive.  Also, be careful not to overindulge in anything (work or play).  Get lots of rest and watch your health.

You are sincere in your relations with others.  You make friends easily, and can make adjustments to new friends to allow them to feel comfortable with you.  You are also quite sensitive, and your feelings are easily hurt by harshness or rudeness.  You try to be civil to everyone, even those who are not civil to you.  You can also be quite tactful and diplomatic.  Your mood can be so "nice," that people may wonder whether you have ulterior motives, and they may distrust you for this reason.

You take great pride in your personal appearance.  Your type of loving is gentle and sensitive, though passionate and intense.  You are good at anticipating your lover's needs and satisfying them.  This often results in a good marriage for natives with this aspect.

Your youth was a pleasant one, and you enjoy having a comfortable home of your own as an adult.  You are generous with others less fortunate than you.  This is not to ease your conscience, but because you genuinely are concerned about others.

Your one problem in relationships is that you will have a hard time adjusting to thinking in terms of a couple.  You are used to having only yourself to please.  You must also be careful not to bring your family into the relationship.

This aspect indicates that you are highly creative and intuitive, and perhaps even have psychic ability.  Since an early age you have been interested in occult and metaphysical matters, and you attract others to you who share these interests.  You are always trying to live up to the ideals you set for yourself, but this is never easy.  You pay too much attention to what you perceive as your faults and instead should emphasize your positive traits.
